The invention concerns a novel compound, a pyrazole derivative of usnic acid obtained by chemical synthesis in an ethanol–toluene system using hydrazine.
The derivative exhibits strong antiproliferative effects against cancer cells derived from various tissues, including breast, pancreatic and cervical cancer, with significantly lower toxicity to normal cells. It inhibits cancer cell growth, survival, and migration, suggesting potential antimetastatic properties.
The compound demonstrates higher biological activity than previously described usnic acid derivatives, and the synthesis process is simple and suitable for scale-up.
Application:
- Potential anticancer drug candidate,
- Therapy for cervical, breast, and pancreatic cancers,
- Research on selective natural cytostatic agents.
