The invention concerns a new usnic acid derivative (NHPYUSNC) obtained through chemical synthesis.
The compound shows strong antiproliferative effects against various cancer cell types (including breast, pancreatic, cervical, liver, and lung cancers) while exhibiting low toxicity toward normal cells. It also induces endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, leading to vacuolization and cancer cell death.
The derivative demonstrates higher biological activity and lower toxicity compared to usnic acid, making it a promising candidate for further anticancer drug development and as an in vitro tool for studying ER stress mechanisms.
Application:
- Research on novel anticancer drugs,
- Therapy for breast, pancreatic, cervical, liver, and lung cancers,
- Induction of ER stress in cell biology studies.
