Commercialization
and Spin-off Support

INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP
The “Commercialization and Spin-off Support” interactive workshop is a unique event designed as a practical workshop for researchers, students, entrepreneurs, and investors. We are organizing it as part of the international project: “V4 for Innovation: Knowledge Transfer Cooperation of V4 Countries.”

The main topics of the event are methods for assessing the technological and business maturity of innovations, as well as available forms of support for spin-off companies.

About the project

The “V4 for Innovation: Knowledge Transfer Cooperation of V4 Countries” project is being implemented jointly by four technology transfer centers: SZTE TTC (Hungary – project leader), CTT UG – University of Gdańsk (Poland), Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic), and Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (Slovakia).

The project aims to jointly develop solutions that will make it possible to increase the innovation potential in the V4 region. We are also seeking answers to questions on how to address the most significant challenges limiting this potential: bridging the digital divide, encouraging talented researchers to engage in the domestic market, and supporting the practical application of research results.

About the workshop

The workshop at the University of Gdańsk will take the form of speed mentoring and workshop sessions based on the renowned Swedish KTH Innovation Readiness Level™ model. The program includes intensive meetings with experts and collaborative work on developing a comprehensive strategy <<from idea to market entry>>.

Three working groups will be led by invited experts. By working on real-world case studies, participants will formulate a set of practices and questions to facilitate the application of international standards for assessing the technological and business maturity of innovations. This will enable them to better prepare research results and inventions for the commercialization stage.

A valuable complement to the workshops are lectures by invited experts on spin-off companies, an analysis of the sources of their market success, and available financing options.
